Ladies' Breakfast

Praise God for a wonderful morning, reminding me once again of how blessed I am. Every Tuesday morning some Ladies from the church get together for breakfast. We all bring a dish and have lots of food! Annie, Megan, Barbara, Tana, Esperanza (she hosted the breakfast), Fabiola, Adela, Isabel and her daughter, Maribel, and I went to the breakfast. After we ate, we studied Proverbs chapter 1, which is about wisdom. Most everybody contributed and gained something from our study. I didn't talk very much but gained a lot. Before I went to the breakfast, I prayed that I would be an encouragement to the women, but instead I was encouraged. One lady, Adela, was telling us that last year was one of the worst years for her. However, as she looks back, she sees how much she grew spiritually. God has given her peace, more faith, and matured her. What a blessing to reflect on the hard times and see how God works through those things, things that might have been sin or the cause of our mistakes. Isn't God amazing and faithful! Really everything on this earth is for His glory. Praise God that our sisters are learning and maturing in Him! Praise God for giving them a desire and heart to know Him!

Study with Brenda

This morning God blessed me with the opportunity to study with Brenda. We studied the Bible in English. She knows English well. Today's lesson was from Luke 12:13-21, the rich foolish man who stores up things and then dies. I also showed her Matthew 5, where Jesus talks about storing up treasures in Heaven. We then talked about the priorities in our lives. She is unsatisfied with her spiritual and has so many questions. From her I have been reminded what a blessing being a child of God is. I have hope and purpose in my life. I know that God has made me to glorify Him and please Him. I really am in love with my God. He fulfills so many things in my life when noone else can.

Please pray for Brenda, she has such a desire to know God. Also please pray that God will speak through me and give me the wisdom to know what to say in our studies

Buenos Dias!!

Usually I go running in the mornings. Every time that I go running I see an old grandpa guy who works at the little store by the park. When I see him I say Buenos Dias (good morning). One day as I was walking by, he asked me if I liked poems and said that he was going to write one about me and my eyes. So this morning after Annie and I got finished running, he gave me a poem with the title "Inspirado en tus hermosos ojos" (Inspired in your beautiful eyes) It is a very pretty poem. Isn't it crazy that just one little good morning or hello can make an impact on someone. I hope that I can smile more and say at least hi to someone everyday. God can use it in so many ways!! Smile, we have a joy and a love that the people in this world have to see in our daily lives!!

Acts 14:17
.................. He fills your hearts with joy.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Today, I have thought about the people that I love and the people that love me too. I have read about Jesus resurrection and Eph 5. I have two people that are very special to me and love me very much.

Jesus- He is the reason I live and have purpose! He loves me and gives me hope. He loved me 1st and I want to always Him as the true Love of my life. Eph 5:2 says "and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

My Dad- He has been the man of my life for majority of my life. He has taught me many things. He has taught me to be patient and be positive. He has taught me to have trust and faith and has showed me that Jesus should always be my priority. I love my Daddy very much!

God is so good to have blessed me with these two people and more that I can talk to and love back. Today is a great Valentines! God has given me a great team and friends here in Leon too! I pray that we all remember Jesus and keep getting to know how much He loves us. Knowing how much he loves me makes me want to love others too and tell them of the love He has for us!

Denial

Lately, I have read about Peter's denial to Jesus. We have also watched it in Matthew (the movie) as a church. Through being here in Leon, I have learned that I am weak and fail a lot like Peter. However, because of this I have learned that I must run to Jesus more and more each day. Something a F. LaGard Smith wrote in 30 Days with Jesus encouraged me about Peter's denial. "Peter later rebounded with irrepressible strength and power when he was filled with the Holy Spirit. And so can we. It comes to us as a promise! As Christians we will never be perfect. But as God's children we will never be denied." I must keep pressing on every day to be more like Jesus. We are so blessed to be God's children!
(Annie and I went to skate with Emma and Tana during the Holidays. Emma is skating to her mom, Tana. I thought this picture went along with it because I sometimes feel like Emma with God by my side to pick me up.)
